The latest news in the Syria conflict is that the British Parliament rejected taking any military action against Syria. Alongside that news are reports that the United States may be conisdering a "solo strike" without international partners against the Assad regime.
Obama spoke about the damned-if-he-does, damned-if-he-doesn't decision he faces in Syria on Wednesday evening. President Bashar al-Assad’s confirmed use of chemical weapons leaves Obama to decide whether an strike would halt attacks on civilians or incite war.
"There is the prospect, a possibility, in which chemical weapons that can have devastating effects could be directed at us," he said.
Obama also acknowledged concerns that this attack would start another drawn-out, Iraq war. He said that "limited, tailored approaches" would prevent a similar situation.
