Scissors, Lighters, & Knives, Oh My! Airport Christmas Tree Made Out of Banned Items

Nothing screams Christmas joy quite like a tree made entirely of confiscated items.

An airport in Lithuania got into the holiday spirit by creating their version of a Christmas tree — Instead of ornaments, like the ones you might pass down in your family, the airport’s tree was made of items that were confiscated from travelers.

The Vilnius Airport tree was filled with scissors, lighters, knives, toy guns, corkscrews, and other items not allowed on an airplane. Lithuanian Airports posted photos of the tree onto their LinkedIn page, reminding passengers of what items are considered dangerous for air travel.

“So if you don't want your personal, yet prohibited, belongings to land on our next year's Christmas tree - better check out the baggage requirements before you pack for your next flight,” they said in their post.

Leave the box cutters and pocket knives at home while traveling this year if you want to stay on the airport’s nice list.
