People in the Bay Area are flocking to a wildly popular rave to hit the dancefloor—but the event is actually for babies.

Baby Rave, which started in 2016, is a monthly event that happens on a Sunday morning in Oakland, CA. The DJ spins modern dance music—no kid music allowed— so it gives parents an opportunity to have fun with their infant while also letting loose themselves.

Baby Rave is meant for children under the age of 4 and takes place at the Bay Area Children's Theater. The dance party has become so popular that they’ve sold out every rave until April.

After being inspired by a similar event in Atlanta, executive director Nina Meehan started Baby Rave and recruited her fried, DJ Hazzard.

The babies and parents come dressed in fun clothes and sparkles. And if the babies aren’t in the mood for dancing, there is a quiet, relaxation area set up with toys to play with in a fenced-off area.
