Cardi B Makes History As the First Creative Director of Playboy Magazine
The rapper has also been tapped as the founding member of the company’s creator driven-platform,CENTERFOLD, which is set to launch later this month.

Cardi B has officially made history as the first-ever creative director of Playboy, the magazine announced.
The chart-topping rapper is known for breaking records across the music industry, and now, Cardi is set to contribute her talents to a new medium as Playboy’s creative director in residence and the founding member of its new, creator-driven platform, CENTERFOLD.
Announcing the new role, Playboy stated, “Today is a Playboy milestone: we want to welcome our first ever Creative Director in Residence, the icon, @iamcardib to the family.”
Cardi, whose career famously grew from social media candor, shared the news with fans on Thursday, writing that she has “so many ideas” cooking up with the brand.
Playboy provided more details about Cardi’s new job description in a press release, which states she will be tasked with providing “artistic direction across co-branded fashion and sexual wellness merchandise collections, digital editorial, experiential activations and more,” People magazine reported.
The partnership also lists Cardi as a founding member of the magazine’s pilot platform, CENTERFOLD. The focus of CENTERFOLD, which is set to launch later this month, is to provide influential creators with unique ways to interact with their followers and supporters.
Many Bardi Gang fans are excited for the raptress’ collaboration with the iconic brand, given Cardi’s track record of celebrating sexual freedom, most notably through her viral hit “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. The song, which accumulated more than 26 million views on YouTube within the first 24 hours of its release, ignited broader conversations tied to identity, race, and sexual oppression.

Outside of her collaboration with Playboy, Cardi B continues to make waves across industries, recently venturing into the alcohol business with the launch of her new vodka-infused whipped cream shots.
Cardi continues to expand her empire into the world of television after launching her exclusive Facebook show, “Cardi Tries,” with plans to play al leading role in the forthcoming Paramount Pictures film “Assisted Living.”
Of her new role, Cardi wrote to her followers via Instagram, “Joining the @playboy family is a dream and I know y’all are going to love what we put together.”
