Christina Applegate Calls Out Candace Owens for Her Dismissive Comments About Disability-Inclusive Ad
“I'm just getting tired of this all inclusivity thing. It seems ridiculous,” Owens said about the ad.

Conservative pundit Candace Owens recently went on an ableist tirade on her podcast, criticizing an ad for Kim Kardashian's SKIMS adaptive collection, which featured a model in a wheelchair wearing a bra and underwear with the tagline “SKIMS — made for every body.”
“I don’t know why this needed to be done,” Owens said about the ad. “I'm just getting tired of this all inclusivity thing. It seems ridiculous.”
Although it's not the responsibility for people from marginalized groups to educate others, actor Christina Applegate answered the proverbial call. Applegate revealed in 2021 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
“Going to try and sleep but my rage is keeping me awake,” she tweeted. “Candace Owens, do you know when you have seen pictures of me how f*cking hard it was to get my clothes on? A team has to help me!!! So I’m excited for accessibility clothing for me and my community. Hope u wake.”
A few minutes later, Applegate tweeted again, saying, “I thought my last tweet was enough. But then my heart said something else. No rage. If Candace wants to get on the phone with me to be educated on being disabled. I will not come with anger. I will come with love. Because she needs to hear that. I pray for her tonight. sincerely.”
Owens replied to Applegate’s second tweet saying her DMs were open, and acknowledged she “got it wrong” and did not understand the undergarment line was specifically designed for people with disabilities.
