Doja Cat and Dolly Parton Are Set To Star in a TikTok Musical About Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza
There’s Broadway, then there is off-Broadway, and then there are TikTok musicals.

There’s Broadway, then there is off-Broadway, and then there are TikTok musicals.
Coming to a smartphone near you later this month is a Taco Bell musical called ‘‘Mexican Pizza: The Musical” and it will star Doja Cat and Dolly Parton. And if you’re an OG Taco Bell fan, you can probably tell by the name that the musical will be themed around Mexican Pizza, a fan favorite that was taken off the menu in 2020.
Now, for those of you who aren’t loyal fans of the fast-food chain, or don’t spend hours on TikTok like me, you might be wondering how all this came to be.
To preface, this all started when Doja Cat posted a rap about the cult snack on TikTok with lyrics like “I got beans, I need meat,” and “I will end you if you ever dare to go discontinued.” As you can imagine, it ended up going viral with the chain announcing the re-introduction of the Mexican Pizza on May 19.
After her TikTok went viral, another popular TikTok creator, Victor Kunda, took her song and posted a parody that showed a mock rehearsal for what a Mexican Pizza Musical would look like.
According to Entertainment Weekly, both TikToks resulted in the birth of “Mexican Pizza: The Musical.” It is set to include Doja Cat and Victor Kunda, along with other guests.
But wait, where does Dolly Parton come in on all of this? She has mentioned her love for the menu item in past interviews, but other than an Instagram post with a picture of the script, little is known about what her role may be. Regardless, this is a great lineup and I am excited to see how it turns out.
The musical will reportedly come out on May 26.
