Dwyane Wade Shuts Down Internet Trolls Who Criticized His Son’s Nails and Outfit
“I’ve been chosen to lead my family not y’all. So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile!”
Ex-Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade shut down internet trolls after they criticized his son’s outfit and fingernails in a family photo.
Actor Gabrielle Union, Wade’s wife posted a photo on Instagram last week of their family for Thanksgiving. In the photo, the couple’s son Zion sports long white nails and what some called a crop top.
Many users began to comment, criticizing Zion’s outfits and nails. Wade then responded to the negative messages on Twitter, stating, “I’ve seen some post-thanksgiving hate on social about my family photo. Stupidity is apart of this world we live in—so i get it. But here’s the thing—I’ve been chosen to lead my family not y’all. So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile!”
This isn’t the first time Wade and Union have expressed their support for their children’s choices and shown how important inclusivity is to them. In October, Wade posted several pictures on his Instagram Story of Union, Zion, and Wade’s eldest son Zaire at the 11th annual Miami Beach Pride parade, with the captions “We support each other with Pride,” and “It’s a family thing.”
