Florida Brewing Company Puts Shelter Dogs on Beer Cans
Motorworks Brewing is putting dogs that are up for adoption on special four-packs of one of its flagship beers.

A Bradenton, FL-based microbrewery, Motorworks Brewing, is putting pups that are up for adoption on its beer cans.
As a company that prides itself on being pet-friendly and community-minded, Motorworks incorporates animals into its programming and products wherever it can.
On special four-packs of one of its flagship beers, the brewery started putting pictures of shelter dogs that are up for adoption at the local Shelter Manatee. All proceeds from the cans, which are available for purchase in their tasting room, directly benefit the shelter as well.
Motorworks debuted the beer at its January Yappy Hour Pet Extravaganza, which is held every third Sunday. Located at their beer garden, the pet-friendly bash includes beer, brunch, lawn games, raffle items and a silent auction, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Ewenity Farm in Bradenton.
Motorworks Brewing Marketing Director Barry Elwonger told NowThis that the attention the canine cans have garnered is exciting and astonishing and that it’s helped bring more attention to Shelter Manatee’s efforts. Two of the dogs featured on the cans also found homes at the January Yappy Hour.
Elwonger also said that the brewery is working on a future batch of shelter dog cans that will be more widely distributed.
