Rapper, actor, and New Jersey native Ice-T is set to bring a recreational cannabis dispensary to the Garden State.

Ice-T’s latest business venture will be a joint one. ABC News reported that the 64-year-old hip-hop and “Law & Order: SVU” star will be teaming up with the owner of California-based weed dispensary The Medicine Woman to run the reportedly 5,000-square-foot dispensary, which is set to open this fall.

New Jersey voters approved legal cannabis via a 2020 ballot measure, and the policy took effect this past April. As of August 1, there are 17 dispensaries for medical and recreational weed and 9 dispensaries simply for medical weed, per data from NJ’s Office of Information Technology.

“I’ve dedicated my life and career to giving back and paving the way for minorities. As a New Jersey native, I’m excited for the opportunity legalization offers our community, and I look forward to ushering in a new era for cannabis in the state,” Ice T said in a statement. “I’ve partnered with my friend of over 25 years, Charis B who is an authority in cannabis and founder of The Medicine Woman to ensure a premium experience for our customers and community.”

Let’s just say we have high expectations for Ice-T as he starts this new company.
