KFC to Launch Chicken and Donuts Menu
Step aside, chicken and waffles.
Step aside chicken and waffles, because chicken and donuts are here.
After testing new menu items at select locations, KFC has decided to roll out their chicken and donuts menu nationwide on Monday. Last fall, the fast-food chain debuted their new sweet and savory combos in some Virginia and Pittsburgh locations, to test their popularity.
The limited-time menu will feature your choice of either a basket, which includes their signature fried chicken with one or two donuts, or as a sandwich—which is a filet between two glazed donuts. The prices will range from $5.49 to $7.99.
KFC will only be selling the new items until March 16, or while supplies last, so you’ll need to get your fill of chicken and donuts before then.
“Chicken & Donuts is the newest fried chicken trend we’re bringing to all of America,” Andrea Zahumensky, KFC U.S. chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “But not just any donut would do. Only a donut that’s glazed-to-order and served piping hot every single time can stand next to our hand-breaded fried chicken."
The restaurant known for its fried chicken looks like it’ll be making its mark in the “chicken sandwich wars.” The battle between several fast food chains erupted in 2019 after Popeye’s released its chicken sandwich, causing a nationwide phenomenon and taking social media by storm. Will the chicken and donuts be the new chicken sandwich craze of 2020? Guess we’ll find out.
