Fans, athletes, and politicians reacted after news surfaced of basketball legend Kobe Bryant’s death.

After the news reports of basketball legend Kobe Bryant’s death, fellow athletes, celebrities, politicians, and more expressed condolences, shock, and grief.

The five-time NBA champion died in a helicopter crash in California on Sunday morning, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. Bryant was 41 years old.

As the news developed, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, former NBA player Dwyane Wade, several television hosts, and many other prominent people reacted to Bryant’s death.

Several talk show hosts started their shows on Monday by paying tribute to both Kobe and Gianna Bryant 

Prominent NBA athletes and others from across the sports world paid tribute to Bryant.

Entertainment industry and business leaders reacted, including late-night host Trevor Noah who said “this is heartbreaking.”

National, state, and local politicians including President Trump responded to reports of Bryant’s death. 

The Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets held a moment of silence for Bryant during their game.

The Toronto Raptors and the San Diego Spurs also paid tribute by running out the 24-second shot clock on their first possession of the game.
