Matt Gaetz Ends Up Raising $200K+ for Abortion Rights After Trolling Teen Activist

19-year-old abortion rights activist Olivia Julianna was subjected to harsh body-shaming from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) on Twitter. She used the publicity to raise more than $200k for the nonprofit Gen-Z for Change, which will be split among 50 abortion rights funds.
Gaetz spoke at rally in Tampa last weekend, where he called abortion rights activists overweight and ‘disgusting.’ Julianna responded to his remarks on Twitter by calling him an ‘alleged pedophile’—a reference to the fact Gaetz has been under DOJ investigation for alleged sex trafficking.

Afterward, Julianna announced a fundraising campaign on behalf of Gen-Z for Change and has been posting periodic updates ever since. As of 12:00 pm ET on July 27, the fundraiser has received more than $200k in donations.
