Megan Thee Stallion said on Wednesday she is recovering after being shot over the weekend.

The rapper, whose full name is Megan Pete, shared on Instagram that she was hospitalized after she “suffered gunshot wounds” after a “crime that was committed” against her. Megan said the intent of the crime was to physically harm her and that she had to have surgery to remove the bullets.

Megan did not say who shot her but that she wanted to clarify initial reports. Her statement comes after TMZ reported that she was with rapper Tory Lanez in an incident that ended in his arrest.

LAPD officers responded to a “shots fired” call in Hollywood on Sunday at 4:30 a.m. After witnesses gave police a vehicle description, officers found an SUV and arrested rapper Tory Lanez, whose full name is Daystar Peterson. He was booked and charged with concealing a firearm in a vehicle, which is a felony, and was released on bond later that day.

TMZ reported that Megan was in the car with Lanez and another unidentified woman. The police report said one person was taken to the hospital with a foot injury but did not specify who.

An LAPD spokesperson told NowThis the department is awaiting more information about Megan’s involvement in the incident.

TMZ initially reported that Megan suffered a foot injury from broken glass, but her statement said: “The narrative that is being reported about [Sunday morning’s] events are inaccurate.” She also said police did not arrest her and that officers drove her to the hospital.

The rapper said she is expected to make a full recovery.
