The administration of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) is taking a stand against book banning by establishing a 'little library' in the state capitol building in St. Paul.

Walz posted a video to his public Instagram on Wednesday announcing the action, adding that March is also recognized as Reading Month in Minnesota.

'This idea we're seeing across the country to stifle first amendment freedoms and to ban books. It's not what Americans do,' he said. ''And here in Minnesota, you're free to read what you want to and free to not read.'
