According to an Oct 3 report in the Wall Street Journal, Netflix is planning to raise subscription prices for its ad-free tier once the SAG-AFTRA strike ends.

The price hike is expected to start in the U.S. and Canada but could extend to other global markets, according to the WSJ. The reported move seems to indicate that Netflix might be looking to pass onto consumers any increased costs from actors’ new union contracts.

The exact amount of the price increase is still unknown, the WSJ reported. Netflix currently has several tiers for subscribers, ranging from an ad-based plan of $6.99 per month all the way to a $19.99-month premium plan.
