Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson Leave Hospital For Self-Isolation

After testing positive for coronavirus, the couple has left the Australian hospital where they were being treated.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are in self-isolation after leaving the Australian hospital where they were being treated for COVID-19. 

The actors announced they tested positive for coronavirus on March 11 while Hanks was shooting a film in Australia. The married couple was being treated at a Queensland hospital, but have now left, according to their son Chet Hanks. 

In an Instagram video Monday night, Chet gave an update on their conditions, saying, “They're out of the hospital. They're still self-quarantined obviously, but they're feeling a lot better, so that's a relief.” 

CNN also confirmed with a representative for Hanks that the couple did leave the hospital.

Hanks and Wilson are among several other public figures who have tested t positive for COVID-19, including NBA players Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, and actor Idris Elba. 

The coronavirus has infected more than 187,000 people worldwide, killing at least 7,400. More than 80,000 people have since recovered.
