Trump 2024 Is Coming…

“I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore. In my own mind, I’ve already made that decision,” Trump is quoted as saying.

Two separate reports dropped on Thursday indicating that a Trump 2024 presidential run is closer than ever to becoming reality.

First, the Washington Post published a new piece early Thursday, claiming that former President Donald Trump is considering announcing his third bid for the White House as early as September, if not sooner, with one anonymous Trump ally quoted as saying the odds are “70-30 he announces before the midterms.”

Five hours later, NY Magazine released an exclusive interview with Trump himself, conducted by staffer Olivia Nuzzi at Trump’s New Jersey golf resort on July 11, in which Trump not-so-subtly hints that a 2024 announcement is all but a certainty.

“I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore. In my own mind, I’ve already made that decision,” Trump is quoted as saying. “I would say my big decision will be whether I go before or after.” When pressed by Nuzzi to specify further, Trump clarifies he means “before or after” the midterms.

Trump’s hypothetical decision to announce a campaign for 2024 before the 2022 elections are even wrapped would be highly unusual. It likely speaks both to his personal impatience to get back into the political fray, as well as a sign he is trying to change the conversation around the many simultaneous legal and congressional investigations he is currently facing.

In addition to the January 6 House Select Committee's ongoing probe, Trump is facing investigations from federal prosecutors, the D.C. attorney general, the Manhattan district attorney, the NY state attorney general, the Westchester County district attorney, the SEC, and the Fulton County, GA, district attorney, per NY Mag.
