Deodorant Could be Harmful for the Planet — Thankfully, There Are Alternatives

Most deodorants are packaged with various kinds of plastic that will be on Earth far longer than you will be. Many also contain chemicals like triclosan, which washes off our bodies and down the drain and can end up contaminating waterways and harming marine life.

While plastic-heavy and chemical-filled deodorants are thought to be bad for the environment, they could also be bad for you. They can clog pores, have been linked to Alzheimer's, and could increase pregnancy risk.

But there are plenty of zero-waste, ethically sourced, and natural alternatives on the market.
