New Bill Aims to Hold Companies Accountable for Damage Caused by Plastic

‘I want our grandchildren to grow up with clean air, clean water, clean soil’ — This new bill would hold companies accountable for the impact plastic production has on our environment and health.

Most plastics production starts with crude oil. When toxic pollutants are released into the air during processing, they can cause adverse health effects to those exposed.

The Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act aims to put an end to the adverse effects of plastic production by calling for a pause on new plastic production facilities in the U.S.
