This is the Horrific Impact of Plastic Waste on Endangered Species

Out of approximately 1,800 animals from 40 different species found entangled in or eating ocean plastic, 88% were listed as endangered or threatened with extinction, according to a November 2020 report from Oceana.

Plastic bags, packing straps, and balloons with strings were the most common forms of entanglement. Bags, balloons, fishing line, sheeting, and food wrappers were the most common identifiable types of swallowed plastic.
