This Organization Rescues Injured Marine Animals

This organization rescues and rehabilitates marine animals entangled in plastic waste and lost fishing gear along the California coast.

The Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit rescue and response, rehabilitation, and research center that rescues and treats injured and sick marine mammals along the coast of California and the island of Hawaii.

Since 2009, close to 1,800 marine animals in U.S. waters have been affected by plastic entanglement or have swallowed plastics. Out of all those animals, 88% are listed as endangered or threatened.
