CocoTerra Tabletop Device Lets You Make Chocolate From Scratch at Home

This device lets you make chocolate from scratch at home.

California startup CocoTerra’s tabletop chocolate maker turns crushed cocoa beans into a ring of chocolate pieces with two hours.

The device is paired with an app that offers recipes and instructions. It grinds cocoa nibs; refines them; conches, or polishes, the mixture; tempers the chocolate; and molds it into a solid chocolate bar, all without you having to lift a finger.

CocoTerra has reportedly raised $2 million from investors. According to its website, the chocolate maker is not for sale yet, and its price has yet to be determined. CNBC reports that the company will attempt a holiday 2020 launch.

The global chocolate market is projected to reach $161 billion by 2024.
