Everyone, especially urbanites, love getting food delivered to their door.
That’s why this news is so exciting — especially for fast food fans: Taco Bell and KFC delivered to your door! Parent company Yum Brands is teaming up with GrubHub in a $200 million deal to bring Taco Bell and KFC directly to you. The company will use GrubHub’s tech and delivery people to oversee online orders.
It’s a deal investors seem to like — GrubHub’s stock shot up more than 27% after the announcement. Other fast food chains are starting to catch on to this delivery-friendly trend. McDonald’s has expended delivery to 5,000 of its 14,000 U.S. locations.
Yum Brands will buy $200 million of GrubHub’s stock and a Yum Exec will join GrubHub’s board. It hasn’t been announced how many KFC and Taco Bell locations will offer delivery and when. Regardless, this news likely has a few fans itching to use the service.
