This vegan support group will help you ditch meat — and it’s completely free. The New Leaf Vegan Mentor Program matches you up with a mentor who helps motivate you to reach your goals of becoming vegan.
The mentors come from different backgrounds and are trained to be non-judgmental, kind, respectful, and resourceful. There’s no time limit for having a mentor and you can be a mentee for as long as you need. Even people who consider themselves already vegan can participate. Even people who consider themselves already vegan can participate.
The program is sponsored by the Catskill Animal Sanctuary in New York. It’s the only farmed animal sanctuary in the U.S. and has been promoting veganism since 2009. During the pilot program, more than 50 people were matched with mentors.
You can sign up for the program at newleafvegans.org. The program is also accepting applications to be a mentor. A group called Chilis on Wheels also started a mentorship program called LIVE, or Low-Income Vegan Education.
The program is also free and is 21 days long and aims to make veganism accessible to communities in need.
