The algorithm predicts who will die on “Game of Thrones.”
Computer science students at the Technical University of Munich developed an application that searches the web for “Game of Thrones” data. The application uses an algorithm to predict which characters are most likely to survive to the end of the show’s final season.
Project manager Guy Yachdav said survival rates are predicted using longevity analysis that “…relies on data taken from the world of fantasy the exact same artificial intelligence techniques are used in the real world.
Some takeaways from the analysis are that there’s a 93.5% chance that Bronn will be the next character to die, followed by Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane, Sansa and Bran Stark, and Sandor “The Hound” Clegan.
Characters with the least change of dying are: Daenerys Targaryen, who has a meager 1% chance of death, while Tyrion Lannister, Varys, and Samwell Tarly only have a 3% chance of meeting their fate.
The final season of “Game of Thrones” premiered on April 14, 2019 and will conclude on May 19, 2019.
