Mt. Everest In Nepal Covered In Climbers' Waste

Mt. Everest was declared Earth’s highest garbage dump. The 29,029-foot peak was purged of nearly 25 tons of waste in 2017 alone, and local Sherpas are often left to carry climbers’ trash back to the mountain’s base. Locals continue to hope for government intervention and encourage future climbers to be more waste conscious.
