This Suit Gives You A Hangover Without Drinking

This suit gives you a hangover without even drinking. Ford Motor company in Germany designed a suit to recreate the effects of a hangover in order to study the dangers of driving while hangover.

Meyer-Hentschel Institute CEO Gundolf Meyer-Hentschel stated, “One of the biggest problems with hangovers is that you wake up and you think last night is over, and now you can drive. But that’s not true. There’s a large body of scientific research that shows that your ability to drive is decreased nearly the same as if you had alcohol in your blood.”

The suit combines a set of goggles that give you double vision, headphones playing pulsing music to mimic a headache, a vest and head weights that affect balance and slow movement, and the whole thing weighs more than 37 pounds.

For research and development purposes, the suit’s creators had their own hangover experience — they first had a bit to drink, then observed the symptoms for comparison.

The hangover suit is used by the Ford Driving Skills for Life Program to prepare new drivers for unexpected dangers on the road — hopefully it prevent some future accidents.
