Hayley Gumble reached menopause when she was 23 — now she’s fundraising for IVF to start a family with her husband.
She explained, “When I was asked when I was younger what do I want to be before I die was, it was ‘mum.’ I want to be a mum.”
Gumble was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure (POF) in 2016, which results in a loss of normal ovary function. She got married in 2017 hopes to start a big family, despite her condition, which makes pregnancy unlikely. Now she’s raising awareness about infertility:
“Sometimes I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t. I don’t. And I feel that’s the problem. Not enough people do. Women have gone through so much to get where they are this day and age. And I feel like they should be united, and stand together, and really come out in and [raise awareness] and try to find a cure because there’s got to be something that we can do.”
She recently started a JustGiving page to raise thousands of dollars for donor eggs to try and start a family with her husband. She also posted a Facebook video asking people to help make her dreams come true.
