Woman Offers To Donate Old Graduation Dress To Another Graduate

Becky Hoppe worked two jobs to buy her graduation dress — now she’s giving it away to make someone else’s day special.

After stumbling upon her high school graduation dress, 28-year-old she had an idea to build a graduation giveaway.

“When I was getting ready to graduate, I purchased the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. I worked 60 hour weeks with two jobs at minimum wage to afford this dress, and rent, and more things 17 years olds probably do not think about paying for.” Hoppe stated on Facebook. “I would like to GIFT my dress to that girl that can’t afford what the others can, that thought that their graduation isn’t going to be the special day they hoped for.”

Hoppe asked for donations so she could give more than just the dress and ended up getting a photo session, makeup application and a haircut gifted for free as well. Her post was shared more than 800 times and woman across the country wrote in their praises.

@suzy-harder stated, “Every day I am reminded that there are amazing people in this community! Thank you for sharing one of your most precious memories and gifting it so it will create another precious memory.”

Hoppe is hoping someone from her high school alma mater reaches out to claim the gifts she also asks that the lucky woman pays it forward and passes her dress along after graduation.
