The Olympics are pretty undeniably enjoyable — watching athletically endowed individuals perform amazing feats on an international stage can be pretty addicting. The games really highlight hard work, team dynamics and sportsmanship — the medals don’t hurt either. While they don’t have to be the primary factor for whether a team had a good Olympics, it’s still pretty cool to see athletes from your country being honored at the podium.
And now there’s even more reasons to love athletes going for the gold, because every time the U.S. gets a gold medal, Hershey’s gives away candy. The candy company is giving away coupons for its new Hershey’s Gold Bar to celebrate every time team USA wins a gold medal. The gold bar combines caramelized crème, peanuts and pretzel bits. The stakes are pretty high, since it’s the first time Hershey’s has had a new flavor in over 20 years.
So how do you win? When a gold medal is won, Hershey’s will post a “celebratory link” to its Facebook and Twitter pages. The first 10,000 people to respond can win a coupon worth up to $1.50. You can only win once during the giveaway and the whole promotion ends February 18. So you still have a chance to take gold — albeit in candy form.
