The Rock vs. Arnold: Battle of the Great Ones

There are very few actors out there like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The Rock is on an absolute roll recently, and the only time we’ve seen someone with charisma of this caliber before was with Schwarzenegger. So now we’re putting to the 2 head-to-head and deciding whose career stacks up better.

Let’s start with their athletic career:
Arnold started weightlifting when he was 14 and looked at it as his ticket to the United States from Austria. He later went on to dominate the entire sport, winning the Mr. Olympia 6 times in a row, before retiring in 1975. The Rock got cut from a Canadian football team at age 23. He decided to join the family pro wrestling dynasty and went on to have an extremely successful career.

But we can’t truly judge one or the other without looking at their movie careers
Schwarzenegger’s breakout role was in “Conan the Barbarian.” But his body, accent, and stony persona made for an even better android in the “Terminator” series he’s known for. The Rock’s first major movie role was in “The Mummy Returns.” From there, it was nothing but mediocre roles until “Fast Five,” which revitalized “The Fast and the Furious” franchise.  From there, he’s starred in plenty of huge hits like “Jumanji,” and is now the highest grossing actor in all of Hollywood.

Though Arnold may have a leg up on The Rock overall because he was also governor of California, both have had some seriously amazing, industry-spanning careers.
