26 Pound 'Chonky' Cat Wins Internet Over, Receives Hundreds of Adoption Apps

This “chonky” 26-pound tabby cat has captured the internet’s heart.
Mr. B, who also goes by BeeJay, is two-year-old and now famous for his size. He went viral after the Morris Animal Refuge posted a photo of him in the hope of getting him adopted. Hundreds of adoption applications have since flooded the Refuge.
Mr. B became famous for being what the shelter called “big boned.”
“We’ve never had so many people interested in one animal,” the Morris Animal Refuge’s Emma Homan told The Philadelphia inquirer.
The excitement over Mr. B crashed the shleter’s website and inspired dozens of memes and photos of people sharing their own chubby cats online. The shelter even started selling a shirt with his face on it to support the other animals in their care.
The Morris Animal Refuge is now going through the hundreds of applications they received to adopt Mr. B and hope the publicity will help other animals find homes as well.
