Cries of Immigrant Children Are Played for Guests at Trump Fundraiser
Sounds of immigrant children being taken from their parents were played outside a Trump fundraiser in Washington, D.C.
As part of the president’s family separation policy, thousands of children have been taken from their families in a matter of weeks, and kept in extremely unsuitable conditions at various detainment facilities.
Progressive PAC American Bridge set up a speaker outside the event, which cost attendees a minimum of $100k. They continued to play the emotional audio as President Trump arrived to address the guests.
The backlash from both Democrats and Republicans has been immense since details of this no tolerance policy have been made public. Many have demanded that the president revoke it in order return the children to their families.
But Trump keeps shifting the blame on Democrats, implying it is their policy that created the inhumane border crisis. On June 15th, he stated, “I hate the children being taken away. The Democrats have to change their law. That’s their law. That’s the Democrat’s law. We can change it tonight. We can change it right now.”
Despite the blame being shifted around, the demand for justice has been constant across the country, and supporters of the policy have been made to answer for it.
