Three men overdosed in Ed Buck’s home—now he’s being accused of running a drug den.
The prominent Democratic donor and LGBTQ+ activist, was arrested on September 17 after a third man overdosed in his West Hollywood apartment. He is accused of injecting a man with methamphetamine. The 37-year-old survived, allegedly despite efforts by Buck to prevent him getting help for the overdose.
The DA’s office claims Buck targeted Black men in vulnerable situations by offering them drugs, money, and shelter. His charges include battery causing serious injury, administering methamphetamine, and maintaining a drug house. He faces up to five years and either months in prison if convicted.
Buck has previously been investigated by authorities over the deaths of 55-year-old Timothy Dean, and 26-yer-old Gemmel Moore. He was never charged.
Moore’s mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit claiming her son’s death could have been avoided if Buck had been charged for the first death.
