Haley Curfman let her students draw on her dress and the results are adorable.
The elementary school teacher stated, “I ran across someone who had done a dress. And I was just like, I love it. I loved the idea and I knew I had to have it.”
Curfman is a 2nd grade teacher in Blackwell, Oklahoma. For the second year in a row, she bought a white dress and had her students turn it into a work of art.
She explained “This year was a lot more geared around our kindness Week. So they were geared to write more positive, kind things there are a lot of hearts or ‘Be my Valentine.’"
Her first dress won at the county fair, but her second went viral with over 230,000 likes and 330,000 shares. Curfman is a very creative educator. Last year she released a calendar of herself behind the desk, with different months pertaining to different seasons or classroom activities. The calendar sold out two rounds of printing and the profits were donated to other teachers.
Her project “The Weary Teacher” documents the work she does in her classroom and focuses on connecting with other teachers. She’s also a mom and a talented photographer, as is evident with the cool pictures she creates with her students.
