In This Together: 7-Year-Old Reads to Kids Online, Model Makes History

Bryan's Book Corner

7-year-old Bryan Rumfelt from New York is an avid reader — so he and his family started an online show called “Bryan’s Book Corner” for him to share some of his favorite stories with other kids in quarantine.

“I’m a teacher, so, you know, we all as teachers are obsessed with the fact that we want our kids to read, but we know that that’s not gonna happen just because you’re a teacher,” Bryan’s mom Jennifer explained. “He happened to love books always. When he went to school, he used to sit there and stare at the teacher when she would read books. And when he started learning how to actually read them that was all — he was so excited. All he wanted to do was read.”

Bryan’s Facebook group now has over 3,000 dedicated members who tune in each week to watch his animated readings. He and his parents are happy that his videos can bring some comfort and entertainment to so many people.

“We wanted it to be something that he remembered that he did good,” Jennifer said. “This just happened to work out so nicely because he’s doing something nice and he’s not getting anything from it except the gratitude from others and I think that’s that important thing for him.”
