Most couples celebrate wedding anniversaries and many follow their ceremonies up with renewed vows years later. This helps them restate their love for each other with friends and family, just like they got to do on their wedding day. But this particular couple’s reaffirmation of their love took touching to another level, with the man recreating his proposal for his wife with terminal cancer 37 years later.
During his emotional second proposal, he stated, “I wasn’t very smooth when I originally asked you to marry me. So anyway, I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time but I knew you’d be mad at me. So if, by chance, I ask you to marry me again would you?”
The couple’s children and grandchildren helped organize the proposal.
“The way things are going right now (unless we get a miracle), Sherri may only have a couple of good months left with us, so this was something extra special that we were able to help me dad put together for her,” their son explained.
The sweet second proposal concluded with the family’s grandchildren prancing around in masks with big tubes of bubbles, making the whole event an extra cute family affair.
