Michelle Obama Surprises Harlem High School Students

Michelle Obama surprised these Harlem high school students and gave them all free tickets to her upcoming book tour.

“I know what you’re going through ‘cause I am living with a senior myself and these days are stressful and exhausting.” she stated to the students over Skype. “And I know you guys are worrying every single minute, whether you’re good enough, whether you can make it there.”

Mrs. Obama spoke to 12th grade students at Democracy Prep Public School in Harlem, who were attending a college application prep session.

“I want you to keep working hard. I want you to keep reaching higher,” she stated. “I want to make sure you filled out those FAFSA forms and know that I’m proud of you. Barack is proud of you. We love you. In times like this, I think it’s important for you to know that you’ve got people like us who have your back and care deeply about your growth and development.”

The former first lady’s book, “Becoming,” comes out November 13 and her book tour kicks off November 13 in Chicago. Mrs. Obama has given out thousands of free tickets with a special focus on young people who grew up in communities like hers.
