This Parkland father is painting to protest Trump and the NRA.
Manuel Oliver, who lost his sun in the Parkland school shooting, made a powerful mural just feet away from where the annual NRA convention was being held.
“This is not about art. This is about activism, he explained to NowThis. “I am not either running away from you guys or asking you to run away from me. We can find that line in the center, line in the middle that bring a peaceful future for our kids — basically for your kids because I don’t have my kid anymore.”
Oliver lost his 17-year-old son Joaquin, aka “Guac,” and claims that Trump has never said his son’s name.
“What I was trying to explain is that it takes one second of your agenda — “Joaquin” — which is the victim of a shooting in Florida,” he stated. “This is affecting the whole nation and that is moving a lot of people.”
Trump traveled to Dallas to address the NRA’s conference and Oliver is urging him to support the victims and their families the same way that he supported the NRA.
“We deserve — we are American citizens, we are family of a victim from a shooting,” he stated. “And we deserve the same attention.”
