Photographer Matthew Dippel needs your help finding a mystery couple who had the picture-perfect proposal.
He captured the proposal on a road trip through Yosemite, in what turned out to be one of the “best photos [he’s] ever taken.”
“My buddy Josh and I were on a road trip from Seattle all the way down to LA,” he explained. “And me being a photographer, Yosemite was the biggest thing on the list to hit on the way down.”
Dippel said other photographers had mentioned the splendor of Taft Point to him, so he decided to photograph it one day while the sun was setting.
“But [a] couple walked out first and the next thing you know he’s down on one knee and I’m just kind of sitting there with my jaw on the floor snapping some photos,” he explained. “And I kind of looked around to see if maybe that was a planned thing and I ran over to the point to go try to find other people. I came up short so then I took it to the internet and here we are.”
Dippel took to social media to find the couple — and what he thought would garner a few hundred retweets turned into more than 150,000. Dozens of people have sent couples his way, but he has yet to get the right match.
