Student Arrested for Allegedly Bringing Loaded Gun to School

This student allegedly went to his school with a loaded gun after being suspended for threatening another student. 18-year-old Eric Knox is accused of bringing a loaded .22 revolver to Western Career Prep High School in January. Knox had recently been suspended for threatening another student and investigators say he threatened a teacher the day of the incident who recognized him and told him to leave, stating, “F*ck you. You need to stop following me or I’m going to fire on your ass.”

Police think Knox went to the school to find a female student who said she didn’t go to school that day because she had received threats from Knox that morning. The suspect was able to evade the deputies called to the school but police caught up to him and tased him at a gas station. When they asked him if he had anything in his backpack, he said no. But police said they found a loaded gun and loose bullets in his backpack. Knox is currently facing multiple charges, including illegal possession of a dangerous weapon. The incident seems particularly ominous considering it’s on the heels of the recent Parkland shooting, but fortunately, no one was injured by the weapon.
