Why Are Palestinians Protesting In Gaza?

On March 30, 2018 -- Israeli soldiers opened fire on Palestinian “March of Return” protesters along its southern border with the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of nearly two-dozen people, making it the deadliest day in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since a 2014 war inside of The Gaza Strip.

The Israel Defense Forces, or IDF, defends its actions, saying it was preventing a mass crossing of its southern border with Gaza and protecting Israelis in surrounding towns.

But Israel is being criticized by world leaders for what they’re saying is use of excessive force.

International organizations are calling for a full, transparent and independent investigation into the killings of Palestinian protesters by Israel soldiers.  But how did these protests in Palestine all come about in the first place?

In this episode, NowThis World Correspondent Judah Robinson will explain why these “March of Return” protests are happening in Gaza.
