Audio of Tucker Carlson's Sexist And Vulgar Rants Surface

Tucker Carlson repeatedly made sexist and vulgar comments during appearances on a shock jock’s radio show from 2006 to 2011.

Some of the comments including saying women “hate you when they do you wrong and you put up with it,” and that they’re “like dogs that way.” He also called women “extremely primitive” and “basic” and used an obscene slur against Martha Stewart’s daughter. He slurs several other prominent women in the tapes including Arianna Huffington, Sarah Palin, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears. He also joked about a 13-year-old being molested by a teacher.

The audio was uncovered by Media Matters, a media watchdog group, and features Carlson and a radio host named Bubba the Love Sponge.

Carlson was an MSNBC host from 2005 until 2008. Some of the shock jock recordings were after he joined Fox News in 2009. He is now one of the network’s most prominent personalities. This year, he’s been criticized for linking women earning more with rising levels of drug and alcohol addiction, stating, “Study after study has shown that when men make less than women, women generally don’t want to marry them,” and that this leads to “more drug and alcohol abuse, higher incarceration rates, and fewer families formed in the next generation.”
