New sexual assault allegations have emerged against Trump—now campaign staffer Alva Johnson and her lawyer Hassan Zavareei are speaking out against it.
“The first component is an allegation that Donald Trump, when he was running for president and she was a senior staffer on his campaign, forcibly kissed her in front of a group of other people in an RV,” he stated. “And as he was leaving the RV, he stopped and grabbed Ms. Johnson’s hands. They exchanged pleasantries and he held on to her hand, and he kept holding on to it and he started to move in, at first, Ms. Johnson thought that he was trying to hug her. She was very confused about what was happening. And the next thing you know, he was able to move in closer, she tried to pull her head away, and he kissed her on the side of her mouth.”
Johnson recorded video inside the RV before the alleged assault, contradicting some witnesses’ claims that she wasn’t in the RV.
More than 20 women have accused Trump of past sexual misconduct, and this is the first misconduct allegation from during the campaign. The White House reportedly dismissed the allegations as “absurd,” and Trump has called other accusers “liars” and threatened to sue them, though he hasn’t followed through on those threats.
Johnson’s mother, boyfriend, and stepfather told the Washington Post that Johnson told them about the alleged assault the day it happened.
“I’ve tried to let it go,” she stated. “You want to move on with your life. I don’t sleep. I wake up at 4 in the mourning looking at the news. I feel guilty.”
