Trump’s EPA chief has had so many scandals, even Fox News is calling him out.
The EPA tried to give two of Scott Pruitt's friends raises of $56,000 and $28,000, even after the White House rejected the raises. He is also under fire for a suspicious deal, in which he accepted $50 a night to rent a condo from the wife of a Washington lobbyist.
And those aren’t the only scandals — more stories keep coming on Pruitt’s abuse of office. He spent nearly $200,000 in tax dollars on luxury travel in 2017 and over $800,000 for an unprecedented 24/7 security detail. He even spent $43,000 on a special sound-proof phone booth. Also according to CNN, “Multiple senior EPA officials, including a career official and political appointees, were sidelined or demoted after they raised concerns or pushed back on the amount of money Pruitt has spent as EPA chief on expenses such as travel as well as his management of the agency...”
Pruitt has raised so many ethics questions, the Sierra Club asked if it’s even possible to list them all. According to Politico, Trump’s chief staff considered firing him, but Trump instead proposed giving him Jeff Sessions’ job.
