Harley Rouda Is Trying to Flip a Crucial Seat in California

Harley Rouda is trying to flip a crucial seat in California and beat Dana Rohrabacher.

“He’s been there for 30 years. He has the nickname of being Russia’s favorite congressman,” the congressional candidate explained. “He is the only congressman who has been investigated by [Special Counsel Robert] Mueller and he apparently has a codename with the Kremlin.”

Rouda is a business executive who backs Medicare for all and a $15 per hour minimum wage.

“I am a recovering Republican,” he stated. “I remember days when you actually had Republicans who believed in women’s rights, who believed in climate change being an issue, who believed that civil rights was something we should stand up and fight for.”

He also says climate change policy is especially important to his coastal CA district.

“It is estimated by 2050 that there will be 200 million climate change refugees around the world,” he explained. “It’s the number one threat as determined by the Department of Defense. We recognize that this is an issue that we have to address, but it’s also an opportunity because we have to address it. And that means there’s going to be new industries and jobs created by those countries.”
