Nancy Pelosi met with students in D.C. ahead of the March for Our Lives and spoke out about her colleagues “F” rating.
“I thought Newtown would be something that would make all the difference in the world. Little children gunned down in school. But I guess that wasn’t enough to offset the money that our Republican colleagues get from the NRA. I’m very proud of, overwhelmingly our Democratic members are walking around with an ‘F’ pin on, ‘F’ meaning they got an ‘F’ from the NRA. You have to tell [Republican members of Congress] families are going to vote on this issue, because unless they see a consequence, they’re not going to do anything about it.” The House Minority Leader stated. “What I’m encouraged by, though, is, now, these young people are young, but old enough to take command of the social media, show up, communicate, organize, mobilize. [Students] say to me, ‘I don’t understand why members of Congress would choose the NRA over children.’ Well, I don’t understand it either. We’re at a tipping point with these kids. These kids are great, they give us hope, they’re an inspiration, they have a plan, and they keep developing new plans to know their power, show up, and I’m very honored that so many of us are involved with March for Our Lives.”
