Photos Show Migrant Children Sleeping on Rocks at Border Patrol Station in McAllen, TX
New photos show child migrants sleeping on the ground at the McAllen, Texas Border Patrol station.
64% of border detainees are now families or unaccompanied children, according to Border Patrol Chief Carla Provost. At least 13,000 are legal asylum seekers shut out by the Trump administration.
Border Patrol has begun flying some migrant families to Del Rio, Texas from the Rio Grande Valley to help with overcrowding.
CNN obtained the photos from a source with access to the facility.
“Nobody, no matter who you are, where you are from should spend an hour like this,” the source said. “This is the United States of America. Not in our country.”
