Sandra Diaz and Victorina Morales worked for Trump as undocumented immigrants and spoke out about their experiences.
Diaz is from Costa Rica and Morales is from Guatemala — both worked on Trump’s golf course. The women said there were six undocumented workers in housekeeping and that they were helped to get their fraudulent papers at the club.
“Because we didn’t have papers, which they knew from the beginning, we were treated differently,” said Diaz.
“There were a lot of insults, a lot of attacks at the club,” said Morales. “They would tell us that we were stupid immigrants, that we didn’t know English, and they would compare us to their dog.”
The women were also told that if they complained, their supervisors would get immigration to come and take them. They said it is heartbreaking to hear the president publicly call immigrants “murderers and rapists,” with the knowledge that he had undocumented individuals working for him in the past.
“We were there. We took care of his house. We had direct contact with him, with his wife, with his son, with his in-laws,” Diaz said. “We had served, and served with love and we served well. And we are people who are honorable and know how to work.”
