Actress Stephanie Beatriz is voting to make sure the LGBTQ+ community is supported and protected.
“A lot of the LGBT community feels like they are not in the safe place to be their full selves,” she stated. “I know that feeling very intimately, as a bi and queer person. We’re not surrounding that community with love and support.”
Beatriz was born in Neuquén, Argentina and moved to the United States when she was two years old. The small town in Texas her family immigrated to was very segregated.
“As a bi and queer person it is a really horrible way to feel, that you can’t just step out of your door and be your fullest self,” she said.
Beatriz believes that people need to show up and vote if there are issues that need to be solved in the country.
“It’s your duty to yourself. I mean, we live in a democracy and you have the right and it was hard won and you shouldn’t take it for granted,” she said.
